Join new research: Analyzing the Make-or-Buy decision

  • Amsterdam, June 2019

Let’s assume you are the innovation manager of a bank, an industrial company, or a large retail organization. Alongside internal innovation, you seek partnerships with startups.

In determining your collaboration strategy, you could consider working together with, for example, Incubators or Accelerators.

There are over 90 Incubators and Accelerators in the Netherlands alone. Which one would you choose?

Or, would you instead do it yourself, and arrange bespoke Venture-Clienting or Co-development programs, or build a Corporate Accelerator?

The question is: How can you be sure that you're making the right choices?

    Exclusive research

Teeming, together with Rotterdam School of Management, will be conducting exploratory research into the make-or-buy decision of collaboration programs. We plan to interview circa 50 innovation leaders from experienced companies as well as companies who are still preparing to engage with startups.

Among the questions we will address are:

    • What are the goals for collaboration with startups, and how is Return on Collaboration being measured?
    • How do you decide which activities or processes to outsource? Which tasks do you keep in-house? How do you select the right Incubator or Accelerator?
    • Would the decision be the same if you seek radical solutions rather than solutions adjacent to your company’s core offering?
    • What’s the effect of (a lack of) resources on your decision?

Do you bear responsibility within an established company for startup contacts and collaboration programs, and would you like to benchmark your situation, join our research.

Teeming will present the fully aggregated and anonymized findings in round table intervision sessions, where results will be discussed, and experiences shared with peers.

Participating respondents will be offered to join these sessions without a fee, in appreciation for their contribution.

We look forward to speaking with you soon.
